Bezzecchi Satisfied with Return to the Podium
Marco Bezzecchi expressed genuine satisfaction with his performance over the weekend. It had been a while since he stood on the podium on both Saturday and Sunday, and he couldn’t hide his joy. In Sunday’s race, he closely chased rival Marc Márquez, searching for opportunities to overtake. He made use of his strength in the chicane to pass Álex Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia, but ultimately found no chance to launch an attack on Marc. He also credited improvements in Sector 3 and the effectiveness of aero components as factors that supported a fun and well-managed race.
Close Battle with Marc and Pushing to the Limit
“I’m very happy with the weekend. I honestly can’t remember the last time I was on the podium on both Saturday and Sunday—it’s really a great feeling. I’m especially pleased with today’s race. I managed to get close to Marc, which I hadn’t expected, and once I found myself in a good position, I kept looking for a chance to overtake. It wasn’t quite there in the early laps, but the pace improved in the second half. Today’s battle wasn’t so much about overtaking as it was about staying close. I really want to thank the fans as well.”
Strength in the Chicane and Ongoing Challenges
“My main weapon today was braking in the chicane, which allowed me to overtake Álex and Pecco. But Marc was strong in Turn 15, and I just couldn’t get past him. Even though I got close, I always ended up catching him at the wrong spots. I had good speed in Sector 3, but in the slipstream, I was too close in the direction changes, and that made it harder to stay on his tail afterward. This kept me from getting close enough in the chicane to attempt a move. Still, I gave it my all, and I’m satisfied with that.”
Improvements in Sector 3 and Aero Influence
“My riding style improved a lot, especially in Sector 3. The new aero package isn’t hugely different from the old one, though it does help in some ways. But I think the key was my improvement in riding itself. I had poor lines through Turns 10 and 11, and I think I was still on the wrong lines on Friday and Saturday. After reviewing footage and data from other riders, I was able to turn Turn 11 into a strength. Still, attacking Marc was always going to be difficult.”
Satisfaction Through Tire and Physical Management
“Winning at Silverstone was important, but today’s race felt just as good. I was competitive throughout, involved in the fight for victory, and managed to push on every lap while also managing my tires and physical condition. It was a really fun race.”
