Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP Team – Argentina GP Preview

The Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team is gearing up for the upcoming Argentina GP at Termas de Río Hondo, following a strong performance at the Thai GP. Both Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira secured points in Buriram, with Miller particularly impressing in the qualifiers, raising expectations for the weekend ahead.

This will be the ninth edition of the race at Termas in 2025, a circuit known for its passionate Argentine fans and intense battles, often delivering dramatic and thrilling races.

Miller’s History of Bold Performances

In 2018, during his first season with Pramac, Miller boldly attacked the wet conditions with slick tires, securing his first-ever pole position—an audacious move that captivated fans. He also boasts a third-place finish in Moto3 (2014) and narrowly missed the podium with fourth-place finishes in MotoGP in both 2018 and 2019.

Oliveira’s Confidence at Termas

Oliveira, too, has an impressive record at Termas. He claimed pole positions in Moto3 (2015) and Moto2 (2017), and secured podiums in Moto2—finishing second in 2017 and third in 2018. Returning to Argentina after three years, Oliveira is eager to shine once again.

A Challenge into the Unknown

The Argentina GP poses a significant challenge for Pramac Yamaha, especially with no pre-race testing. Quick adaptation to the track’s notoriously low-grip surface will be crucial.

Currently, Miller sits 11th in the rider standings with 5 points, while Oliveira is 16th with 2 points. Yamaha holds 5th place in the constructors’ standings (8 points), and Pramac Yamaha is 9th in the team rankings (7 points).

Gino Borsoi (Team Director)

“I’m very excited to see how Yamaha performs and how Jack and Miguel adapt. We had two days of testing before the Thai GP, but this time, it’s a fresh start—what I consider the ‘true season opener.’ Quickly setting up the YZR-M1 and understanding what our riders need to go fast will be crucial.

Yamaha has four riders with distinct styles, which is a huge advantage in terms of development. Considering our past performance at Termas, we aim for strong results this weekend.”

Jack Miller

“After the race in Thailand, my confidence has grown, and I’m getting more comfortable with the YZR-M1. I’m really looking forward to racing in Argentina. Termas is a track where grip is usually low, and that might actually work to Yamaha’s advantage.

Racing here is always fun, and the passion of the fans makes it feel like a motorcycle festival. We’ll give it everything we’ve got to achieve a strong result this weekend.”

Miguel Oliveir

“I’m really happy to return to Argentina after three years. I missed the 2023 race due to injury, and it wasn’t on the calendar in 2024. South America always gives us a warm welcome, and the fans here are incredible. I have some great memories of racing at Termas and approach this race with a positive mindset.

I’m very thankful for the effort Yamaha and the team are putting in. We’re always pushing forward, and that drive gives me confidence and motivation. I’m excited to see how far we can go this weekend.”
