Spanish GP Practice 3rd Place: Franco Morbidelli States “The Goal Is the Front Row”

Franco Morbidelli Highlights Sector 1 as an Area for Improvement

The VR46 team, now back in the European rounds, maintained a strong rhythm from Friday’s sessions.
After finishing FP1 in 10th place, Franco Morbidelli steadily increased his pace and ultimately climbed to 3rd with a time of 1’36.153.
He cited the trouble-free day as the biggest positive, and explained that significant improvements to the bike from morning to afternoon allowed him to enhance both his race pace and speed on new tires.

Franco Morbidelli:

“Today was a very positive day.We had no issues at all, and that’s the most important thing. We were able to make major improvements to the bike from morning to afternoon, and both the race pace and the speed on new tires have gotten better. We are strong across most of the track, but there’s still room for improvement in Sector 1.We’ll need to analyze the data carefully.

I have a good feeling going into tomorrow.Putting together a strong lap will be the key.Since the track is narrow and traffic can get quite heavy, we’ll need to be careful. The goal is to secure a spot on the front row.”
