No Change in Qualifying Positions

In the Q2 session, Marc Márquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Álex Márquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) entered the track while ignoring the red light at the pit lane exit. They immediately caught the attention of the FIM MotoGP Stewards and were fined. This violation was quickly pointed out by Ducati Lenovo Team’s Francesco Bagnaia and was also shown in a replay during the live broadcast. Marc Márquez and Álex Márquez slightly mistimed their exit from the pit lane, resulting in a breach of regulations.

At parc fermé, Marc Márquez commented that if he were to receive a penalty, it would mean the end of the sport, suggesting the severity he felt the penalty could imply. However, the stewards handed down a relatively light punishment, imposing a €2,000 fine (approximately 330,000 yen) on both riders to prevent recurrence of such mistakes.

Meanwhile, Álex Márquez had his first attack lap in Q2 canceled. Marc Márquez, upon realizing his mistake, slowed down and stopped immediately, whereas Álex Márquez was judged to have gained a slight advantage by accelerating earlier.

Álex Márquez’s initial attack lap time was 1’35.872, but his second attack lap recorded a 1’35.758, which earned him fourth position. Therefore, there was no change to the starting grid.
