Strong Feeling, Cautious Approach – Fabio Quartararo Reflects on Day 1 at the French GP
Fabio Quartararo expressed satisfaction with his current performance after finishing second on the first day of the French Grand Prix. However, he maintained a cautious tone when speaking about the results. He noted slight improvements in the new engine and suggested that circuits with longer straights could reveal its benefits more clearly. Anticipating stronger performances from rivals in tomorrow’s sessions, Quartararo emphasized staying calm while extracting the maximum from himself and his bike.
Fabio Quartararo:
“I’m happy with the lap time and the pace we showed today. I want to keep this momentum going. The new engine is slightly better. It’s not a dramatic improvement, but at tracks like Silverstone or Aragon, where the straights are longer, we might notice a bigger difference. I’m also really happy to feel the support from so many fans.”
“At circuits where we have a real chance, we need to ride carefully and take advantage of every opportunity. I believe there’s a chance here, but tomorrow a lot of riders will improve. It’s still just Friday, and I don’t want to get too optimistic about the results for Saturday and Sunday.”
“I’ll give it everything tomorrow and in the sprint, but this isn’t a race where we have nothing to lose. I want to stay calm and perform at my best within that mindset.”
