First Sprint Podium of the Season – A Steady Ride to 3rd Place
Starting from 7th on the grid (Qualifying time: 1’58.126), Di Giannantonio made a strong launch and immediately engaged in the battle within the leading group. He maintained a consistent pace throughout the 10-lap sprint and crossed the line in 3rd place. This marks his first sprint podium since the 2023 Qatar round, and notably, his first podium of the current season as well as with the VR46 team. It follows his strong performance with a 3rd place finish in the Sunday race in Austin just recently.
Fabio Di Giannantonio:
“We’ve struggled in the last few rounds, so being able to perform at this level again is a huge result both for me and the team. Spending this week in Italy helped us prepare well—I had a lot of video calls where we discussed and looked for solutions, and everything came together perfectly. I’m really proud of the team. I had a good start and managed to maintain the pace throughout the sprint. I believed we could get a good result today, but I didn’t expect it to be this good. We’re in a strong position heading into tomorrow, and with a few more adjustments, I think we can fight for the podium again.”
