Aragon GP – Marc Márquez: “Joining the Ducati Factory Team Was the Right Decision”

Confidence in His Current Form with Ducati – Marc Márquez Reflects on His Move to the Factory Team

Speaking ahead of the Aragon GP, Marc Márquez expressed satisfaction and confidence in both his own decision to join the Ducati factory team and the team’s choice to bring him on board. While referencing his family’s support—especially their fondness for cheering on his younger brother Álex—Márquez made it clear that his focus remains on leading the championship and extracting the most from his experience with Ducati.

Marc Márquez:

“Of course, my family is happiest when my brother gets on the podium, and it seems my mom is definitely cheering for Álex. She probably thinks I’ve already won enough, so it’s his turn now,” he said with a smile.

“It’s been a year since I announced my move to the Ducati factory team. I’m genuinely happy about the decision I made and that Ducati chose me. Right now, we’re leading the championship, and that confirms the move was the right one. I want to continue leading the way with the team, using everything I’ve learned up to now.”

Reflecting on past challenges at Aragon, Márquez added:

“Last year, it rained every night, and the conditions were tough. This year, it’s more about maintaining points after Silverstone. I’ve won here multiple times, and I feel comfortable at this track. I’m going for the win. We’re also preparing for our weaknesses—but I’m not telling you how we’re doing that! [laughs]

Acknowledging the importance of minimizing errors:

“Nobody wants to make mistakes, but so far, all my mistakes have happened on Sundays. If I want to stay in the title fight, I have to reduce those. Even at Silverstone, I made a mistake on Sunday, and that’s something we have to fix.”
