Italian GP: Pedro Acosta Says “I Want to Consistently Run at the Front Like in Aragón” – MotoGP 2025

After a race in Aragón where he finally felt a real sense of progress this season, Pedro Acosta is aiming for steady improvement. Although he missed out on a podium finish, Acosta made bold overtakes early in the race and maintained a stable pace throughout. With confidence from his performance in Aragón, he is looking to replicate a similar showing at Mugello.

Positive Takeaways from Aragón

“Aragón was the first race this season where I finally felt I had a good performance. I wasn’t able to fight for the podium, but I managed to overtake early on and kept up a consistent pace. Last year, riders like Pecco, Martín, and Enea Bastianini were performing at a very high level there.”

Differences Between Testing and Race Weekend Conditions

“This time, I want to get as close as possible to the kind of race I had in Aragón. What we tested there was very positive, but since test conditions are different, it’s hard to make direct comparisons or draw conclusions quickly. The track is usually in better condition during tests than on race weekends. I think we can apply some of what we tested, but there’s nothing right now that will solve the current issues. Still, I want to consistently run near the front like I did in Aragón.”

KTM’s Strengths and Weaknesses

“Top speed is important, but at Aragón, I couldn’t completely overtake and pull away from Pecco. Right now, KTM’s weakness is traction. It’s a fast bike in terms of top speed, but what really matters is being able to transfer that speed effectively to the ground.”
