Recovery Ride After a Costly Start Mistake
Luca Marini’s 26-lap race at the Thailand GP turned into a battle of recovery. A crucial mistake in the starting procedure caused him to drop to the back of the field by Turn 1. However, he remained calm, steadily making his way back into the points. In the end, he finished 12th, just 0.5 seconds behind Jack Miller, matching his best Honda result from the 2024 Thailand GP.
Luca Marini’s Comments
“It was a good test both physically and mentally, and overall, I’m satisfied with how the weekend went. Our race pace has improved, and since today’s race was much longer than the Sprint, it required a slightly different approach. The cloudy conditions also helped.”
“I made a mistake at the start, got flustered, and dropped to the very back by Turn 1. But from there, I think I put together a strong race. I managed to recover to 12th, but without that mistake, I could have fought with Mir and Zarco for a top-10 finish. As the season progresses, I’m confident we’ll achieve even better results.”
