Round 3: Americas GP – Fabio Di Giannantonio: “A Podium That Proves Hard Work Can Beat Talent” | MotoGP 2025
Returning from injury in spectacular form, Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Racing Team) secured a remarkable 3rd place finish at the 2025 Americas GP. In what he described as one of the most exhausting races of his career, the Italian rider demonstrated grit, endurance, and determination—qualities forged through months of grueling rehabilitation. The podium was a powerful reward for the effort he’s poured into his comeback.
A Podium Born From Pain and Perseverance
After a tough pre-season injury, Di Giannantonio made his comeback in Austin with a performance full of fight. Despite intense fatigue from using every muscle in his body throughout the race, he managed to stay within striking distance of Álex Márquez until the final laps.
Fabio Di Giannantonio:
“This is an amazing result. I normally don’t feel this tired after races because I train a lot at home—but today, I’m completely spent. I’ve worked so hard during rehab to make it back here. I was using every muscle in my body, and now everything hurts.
“Even though Marc’s crash helped open up the podium fight, I still had to push hard to try to catch Álex until the very end. This result means a lot.”
Sector 2 Struggles, Last-Lap Regret
Di Giannantonio praised his team’s support, noting how close he came to overtaking for second place—especially outside of the weaker Sector 2, where he struggled most.
“My team did a fantastic job, as always, and I can’t thank them enough. I thought I could catch Álex in the final stages. Apart from Sector 2, I was stronger overall and kept pushing until the end.
“Unfortunately, I made a small mistake on the final lap. With so many slippery curbs, I was extra cautious, and I think that’s what caught Marc out as well.”
“Hard Work Beats Talent” – A Comeback Statement
Di Giannantonio reflected on the personal toll of recovery and how this podium validates the sacrifice and effort he’s put in since the injury.
“Talent alone isn’t enough—hard work beats talent. I’ve spent the past few months going through some of the hardest rehab sessions I’ve ever done. I was so focused that even my girlfriend said I was becoming unbearable. But I had one goal: to come back stronger.
“And today, it paid off.”
