MotoGP Champion Jorge Martín Nears Comeback – Wrist Healing Progressing Well, Qatar GP Still Unconfirmed

MotoGP reigning champion Jorge Martín (Aprilia Racing) is edging closer to his return. While he made a brief appearance at the Americas GP, the latest update confirms that his wrist is healing exceptionally well. Medical tests conducted at “Clínica Dexeus” in Barcelona have revealed a smooth recovery process.

Aprilia Racing Statement:

“On April 1st, Jorge Martín underwent a follow-up X-ray examination. The results were positive, showing clear signs of callus formation at the site of the scaphoid fracture. The implanted fixation screw remains correctly positioned, and the surgery has yielded the expected outcome.”

The presence of callus (new bone tissue formed during the healing process) indicates that the fracture is recovering normally. Thanks to this promising development, Martín has taken a step forward on the road to recovery. However, his participation in the next round—the Qatar GP scheduled from April 11 to 13—has yet to be confirmed.

Although Martín plans to travel to the venue, he will undergo a final medical check next week to obtain the official medical clearance (Medical Pass) required to compete.

Carrying the pressure of being the reigning world champion, Martín is carefully assessing the right time for his return. Whether he will line up on the grid in Qatar remains a key point of attention for MotoGP fans around the world.
