French Grand Prix Extended Through 2031 Following Record-Breaking Attendance

After setting an all-time MotoGP attendance record in 2023—and surpassing it once again the following year—the French Grand Prix has proven itself as a fan favorite. Now, MotoGP has officially announced that the event will continue to be held through the 2031 season, guaranteeing five more editions of the iconic race.

Le Mans, the home of the French GP, has captivated fans from around the world with its vibrant mix of on- and off-track entertainment throughout race weekends. The electrifying atmosphere—largely created by the fans themselves—has become a benchmark for other Grands Prix, showcasing how motorsport can be a full-scale celebration of speed, culture, and community.

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, commented:

“France already has a magnificent motorsport legacy, and we’re proud that our French Grand Prix continues to contribute to that history while attracting a new generation of fans. MotoGP is now the biggest sporting event in France, with packed stands filled with a diverse audience. This is a reflection of the global growth of our sport. France remains a key market for us, and our collaboration with Claude Michy and PHA could not be better.”

Claude Michy, French GP Promoter, added:

“Over many years, it has been a privilege to work alongside Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta. He has always placed his trust in me, and I hold him in the highest regard. I am deeply thankful for everything he has done to transform MotoGP into the spectacular show it is today. While our current promoter agreement runs through 2026, I’m truly honored and proud to see it extended until 2031.”

The Le Mans weekend has evolved into far more than just a Grand Prix. It’s a full-scale entertainment event that thrills fans of all ages from morning till night—and that evolution is set to continue in the years to come.
