Kawasaki WorldSBK Team Begins Preparations for Round 3 at Assen – FIM Superbike World Championship (SBK)

The third round of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) takes place from April 11 to 13 at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The Kawasaki Racing Team and rider Garrett Gerloff are looking to continue their forward momentum at this iconic venue.

Now competing aboard Kawasaki’s factory machine, the Ninja ZX-10RR, Gerloff has shown promising progress following the previous round in Portimão. While his pace was evident during the winter tests, converting that speed into strong race results proved more challenging in the opening two rounds—six races in total—leaving him 16th in the standings. However, signs of a breakthrough began to emerge in Race 2 at Portimão, where he started to translate his speed into results.

This weekend at Assen features two free practice sessions on Friday, Superpole qualifying and a 21-lap Race 1 on Saturday, followed by Sunday’s 10-lap Superpole Race and a full-distance Race 2. With points up for grabs across all three races, it marks a crucial weekend for the team.

The TT Circuit Assen blends modern sectors with remnants of its historic road-racing roots. Known for its flowing high-speed corners and sections that allow for slipstreaming, the track challenges both rider skill and overall machine performance.

Garrett Gerloff:

“Assen is one of my favorite circuits, so I’m really looking forward to this weekend. I believe it’s going to be a stronger round for me on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR. We learned a lot in Portimão, and I want to apply those lessons here at Assen. I’m motivated to work hard and bring home a good result for myself and the team.”
