Marc Márquez Confident Ahead of Le Mans
Marc Márquez says he has prepared well in training and aims to maintain his speed while avoiding mistakes on Sunday. He demonstrated his pace during Monday’s test and plans to apply both his setup and test findings for the future at Le Mans. Although he struggled on Friday last year, he bounced back starting Saturday, and he hints that this year could see contenders like his brother Álex, Pecco, KTM, Yamaha, and Fabio Quartararo fighting at the front. Regarding the recent changes to grid rules, Márquez laughed that he might be the reason, but expressed that he enjoys bat
Marc Márquez:
“I’ve been training well. I made another mistake on Sunday in Jerez, so I need to avoid that. I want to steer clear of crashes on Sunday but still keep my speed. On Monday’s test, I was able to prove I had good pace. There wasn’t anything major in the Jerez test—we have a good base and balance. We’re confirming our setup and testing things for the future, and we’ll try some of that during the Le Mans weekend.”
“I really love the Le Mans track, although I struggled on Friday last year. But from Saturday, I was able to show some competitiveness. This year, Álex has been consistent, and Pecco is strong here—he had great speed last year too. We’ll also need to watch out for KTM, Yamaha, and Fabio Quartararo.”
“The grid rule changes? That’s probably my fault, haha. But it’s fine, as these changes are always aimed at improving things. It’s fun to be in a title fight with my brother. In title battles, relationships between riders can either worsen or improve, but since we’re brothers, we help each other and train together. We’re in separate garages, but our relationship is as strong as ever.”
