Cool-Headed Strategy in the Heat – A Strong Start to the Season

In a race where high track temperatures posed a major challenge, Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) focused on conserving energy from the early stages. Aware that all riders were facing the same tough conditions, he calmly managed his race with a strategic approach for the latter stages. As his bike’s feeling improved, he made key overtakes and achieved his target. With Joan Mir retiring from the race, Zarco finished as the top Honda rider in the opening round.

Johann Zarco’s Comments

“The high track temperatures made for a tough race, but I knew everyone was struggling, so I focused on saving energy for the final laps. As the race went on, my feeling with the bike improved, and I was able to make some good overtakes, achieving my goal. This is a strong start to the season, and I’m grateful to my team and HRC for their hard work throughout the weekend.”

With a well-executed race strategy and a promising performance, Zarco looks ahead to the next round in Argentina, aiming to build on his momentum.
