Round 3: Americas GP – Marco Bezzecchi: “With One More Lap, I Could Have Fought for 5th” | MotoGP 2025
Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Americas Grand Prix, charging from 13th on the grid to finish 6th. It was a display of determination, pace, and precision, especially in the second half of the race when he found strong rhythm and confidence aboard his Ducati.
A Remarkable Climb from 13th to 6th
Starting from the fifth row, Bezzecchi gained positions steadily with a series of bold but clean overtakes. As the race progressed, he developed a sharper feel for both the bike and track conditions, particularly excelling under braking. By the final laps, he was closing in fast on Jack Miller and believed he had the pace to take P5—if only there had been one more lap.
Marco Bezzecchi:
“I’m really satisfied with this race. The whole weekend was quite tough, but the second half of the race felt great.
“Physically I felt better and better, and the connection with the bike improved with every lap. I managed several clean overtakes, braking was strong, and my lap times were improving. I really enjoyed myself out there.
“If there had been just one more lap, I think I could’ve challenged for 5th.”
