Round 3: Americas GP – Jack Miller: “I Want to Keep Evolving in Qatar” | MotoGP 2025

In a race defined by unpredictable weather and last-minute strategy shifts, Jack Miller (Yamaha Racing) delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Americas Grand Prix, finishing 5th—his best result of the season and the highest-placed Yamaha rider so far this year.

Chaotic Start and Smart Tire Strategy

Just minutes before lights out, COTA’s notoriously changeable weather threw the grid into disarray. With intermittent rain and rapidly drying track conditions, several riders abandoned their grid bikes to rush back to the pits and switch to slick-equipped machines.

Miller was one of them, and he took a bold approach—opting for a soft rear tire while most of his rivals chose mediums. The decision paid off. He avoided the first-lap chaos, joined the battle near the front early, and even set his personal best lap on lap 13, showcasing consistent and competitive pace throughout.

Jack Miller:

“Today was a really good day. I got a strong start and managed to stay out of trouble in Turn 1. The bike felt great, and I just tried to extract everything I could from it.

“We’ve made improvements since Saturday, and it’s all thanks to the hard work of the whole team. I’d like to keep building on this in Qatar, especially in dry conditions. The atmosphere in the team is fantastic, and I want to repay them with more strong results.”
