Round 3: Americas GP – Ai Ogura: “I Didn’t Do Anything Special, But It Turned Into a Good Weekend” | MotoGP 2025
Ai Ogura (Trackhouse Racing Aprilia) secured a valuable 9th-place finish at the 2025 Americas Grand Prix, capping off a challenging but ultimately rewarding weekend. Despite tricky conditions and a tough build-up to the race, Ogura showed steady progress across both the Sprint and main race, earning a well-deserved top-10 result.
A Tough Weekend, but a Clear Step Forward
Ogura impressed in Saturday’s Sprint, gaining positions off the start and mixing it with some of the field’s faster riders. In the closing stages, he made clean overtakes on Marco Bezzecchi and Brad Binder—valuable experience in just his third MotoGP round.
Ai Ogura:
“In the Sprint, I got a good start and was able to follow the faster riders. I learned a lot from that. In the end, I even managed to overtake a few guys—Bezzecchi and Binder—so the content of the race was really positive.”
On Sunday, Ogura finished 9th in the main race. Though the result was helped by several front-runner crashes, he stayed calm, consistent, and capitalized when opportunities arose.
“I think 9th place was a good result considering it was a tough weekend. In the Sprint, I moved up through my own efforts, but in the main race, probably six riders ahead of me crashed.
“I didn’t really do anything special myself today—but we finished in the top 10, and that’s still a good weekend for me and the team.”
