Narrowly Misses Out on Q2 Advancement

Joan Mir recorded a time of 1’39.894 in FP1 on Friday, securing a spot in the top 10. In the afternoon session, he further improved by nearly two seconds, setting a time of 1’37.975. However, he finished 13th, falling just 0.1 seconds short of advancing to Q2. On Saturday, he aims to replicate his performance from Thailand.

“Overall, there was good progress. We had the potential to be in the top 10, but in MotoGP, everything needs to come together perfectly. In the final run of the afternoon, I missed something and couldn’t secure the top 10 as I had hoped. Still, I feel that the work we did over the winter is paying off, and I’m riding confidently even at a circuit that’s not my strongest. I want to set a solid plan for tomorrow and take the right steps to fight.”
