Conquering the Wind to Secure 2nd – A Saving Performance Amid a Struggling Weekend

Starting from the second row, Marc Márquez joined the battle at the front early in the sprint race. Though he struggled to match the strong pace of his brother, Álex Márquez, he pursued him persistently until the closing laps. Carefully managing the risk posed by strong winds, Marc secured a valuable 2nd-place finish, bringing a ray of light to what had been a difficult weekend.

Marc Márquez:

“This second place saved our Saturday. Of all the race weekends so far this year, this one has been the most difficult for us. Álex had better rhythm, and I think it will be the same tomorrow. While I was in his slipstream, the front nearly tucked several times, and there was even a moment when I almost crashed due to a gust of wind. I had a three-second gap to third place, so I chose to make sure I got the 9 points.

The wind changes every lap, so you really don’t know what could happen. The forecast says it will be even stronger tomorrow, so we’ll have to be extremely cautious.”
